Location: Lunenburg, MA

The position is based out of our Lunenburg MA office, however there is flexibility to allow for a hybrid schedule, working remotely as agreed upon. Travel between branches and surrounding communities to meet with an assigned clients, members, and credit union employees is a job requirement.

Position Summary: Workers Federal Credit Union (WCU) is seeking a Registered Financial Advisor to provide coordinated sales and service efforts as a member of our Retirement Planning and Investment Center (RPIC) team. As our Financial Advisor, you will have direct and indirect communication with assigned clients and members to identify and recommend individually tailored financial planning strategies, while utilizing and selling appropriate investment and insurance products available through CUSO Financial Services, L.P. (CFS). 

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Assess the financial needs, resources available, financial goals, and risk tolerance of potential investors. Provide advice and make appropriate recommendations on the purchase (or sale) of investment and insurance products that best suit their individual, family, or business needs. 
  • Manage an assigned branch territory by making regular on-site visits and partnering with branch staff to reach additional members to offer our financial planning services.  
  • Accurately document and timely submit all product sales activity within the CFS advisor and client platform. 
  • Participate and deliver member education on saving for retirement, financial planning, and related topics.
  • Cross-sell WCU products and services. Assist with the training of Workers’ staff on investment and insurance products, services, and appropriate operational procedures.
  • Promote yourself and our RPIC services through marketing and direct prospecting efforts. This includes submitting materials for broker-dealer compliance approval prior to use. 
  • Handle routine client inquiries; effectively working with the back-office support personnel to ensure a high degree of quality service and client satisfaction.
  • Help prospect for new clients through existing relationships. Proactively make calls to members and clients to identify additional sales opportunities. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Licenses and Registrations: MA certified Life, Accident, & Health Insurance license and current FINRA Series 6, 63 & 65; or Series 7 & 66 licenses.
  • Three or more years of sales experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a bank or credit union.
  • Client-focused and customer service oriented. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. An excellent listener with strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Solid knowledge of mutual fund operations, procedures, transfers and general workings of both transfer houses and fund-direct companies.  
  • Sales-oriented, strong work ethic and self –motivated. 
  • Proficiency with computer applications software including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
