Schedule: Full-Time | Flexible Schedule Required | Weekends and Holidays as Needed
Compensation: $55,000–$65,000 annually (based on experience)
Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview:

The Groton Inn is seeking a dynamic and experienced Banquet Manager to lead our events team and ensure the flawless execution of private events, weddings, meetings, and social gatherings. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, service-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

This role is responsible for managing all aspects of banquet service, from initial planning and team coordination to real-time floor management and post-event follow-up. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences with a personal touch.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and setup crews

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients before and during events

  • Ensure all events are executed according to client expectations, event orders, and property standards

  • Collaborate with Sales, Culinary, and F&B teams to coordinate timing, logistics, and setup

  • Lead event walkthroughs and pre-shift meetings with staff

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and proactively resolve any issues on the spot

  • Manage scheduling, training, and performance of banquet staff

  • Oversee inventory of banquet equipment, linens, and supplies

  • Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and alcohol service regulations

  • Track labor and event costs to support budget goals

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in banquet or event management, preferably in a hotel or private venue setting

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

  • Proficient in event management software and Microsoft Office

  • TIPS or ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
