We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Relationship Manager with a well-established track record and industry reputation for developing new business to lead the prospecting and identification of new to bank commercial relationships. The position will have primary responsibility for establishing and achieving lending objectives as well as driving the cross-sell of full commercial relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Solicits commercial business by actively participating in a developed and consistent business development calling program with new and existing customers. Foster relationships with centers-of-influence to create referral sources.
• Meet with customers’ senior management, and visit their facilities, in order to understand their business and evaluate management capability along with business stability and viability.
• Evaluate prospective loan requests. Review customer’s financial, credit, and tax information to determine the merits of the loan request, suitability and comparability with CSB growth and portfolio goals and recommend the appropriate loan structure.
• Prepares detailed loan presentations and makes recommendations for large or complex loans referred to Loan Committee and / or the Executive Committee/Board of Directors as required. Follows through as necessary.
• Negotiates credit terms such as rates, repayment parameters and collateral specifications keeping in compliance with the Bank’s loan policies, and all federal and state regulations. Ensures that product pricing reflects the level of investment risk.
• Represents the Bank in various community and civic functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business.

Portfolio Management:
• Manages an assigned loan portfolio. Reviews each customer’s financial status and operations, to assure that the loan remains sound and that conditions of lending are being met.
• Obtains up-to-date financial information on each customer, and analyzes this data to ensure compliance with loan covenants.
• Maintains an up-to-date credit file on each borrower, including financial data, correspondence, economic conditions potentially impacting the customer and any other pertinent documents.
• Ensures the ongoing soundness of the commercial loan portfolio through diligent monitoring of delinquency, credit performance, including financial analysis, appraisal review, hazardous waste assessment and general credit file maintenance.
• Reviews lines of credit annually. Makes recommendations on renewals and extensions of credit.
• Pursues closing of approved loans. Assures that all documentation is accurate, complete and in compliance with approval document, Bank policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains liaison with Retail Banking Department to monitor and coordinate status of prospective and existing commercial customers. Exchanges relevant information about existing accounts; attends and participates in periodic meetings.
• Promptly recognize problems, manage risk, act promptly to recommend risk rating changes in accordance with CSB Loan Policy and develop workout programs as necessary.
• Maintains and updates knowledge of current developments in banking through review of literature and participation in continuing education programs.
• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required. Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience as a commercial lender or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a background in managing, supervising and developing staff.
• Extensive knowledge of banking, with concentration in lending and credit analysis, ratio and trend analysis, interpretation of financial statements and appraisal and environmental/flood reports and the applicable laws.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for employees using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills.
