Download In Thoreau's Footsteps Flyer
Thursday, January 17th ~ 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Clinton Historical Society at the Holder Memorial
210 Church Street, Clinton, MA
Thoreau, as portrayed by historical interpreter Richard Smith, will reprise his lecture "An Excursion to Cape Cod " as he did one snowy evening at the Bigelow Mechanic Institute. While in Clinton, he was given a tour of the local gingham mills. Thoreau was so impressed that he described the cloth-making process in his journal.
Designed for all ages, this re-enactment will bring to life Thoreau's singular teachings and his concerns about industrialization. This FREE program will conclude with a Q&A about why Thoreau remains relevant today.
Hosted by the Freedom's Way National Heritage Area in partnership
with the Clinton Historical Society. This program is funded
by a grant from the Clinton Cultural Council,
supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
