Adult Only Auditions - Friday June 13th 7:00 – 9:00pm Youth Only Auditions (ages 17 and under) - Saturday June 14th 10:00am – noon Open Auditions for Youth and Adults - Saturday June 14th 1:00 – 3:00pm
Callbacks – Monday June 16th 7:00 – 9:00pm
Age Minimum: All those auditioning must be entering Grade 4
Adult Ensemble will play a variety of roles:
Males – Nazi soldiers, neighbors, Salzburg citizens, servants, party guests, contestants and audience members in the Festival Concert.
Female – Salzburg citizens, nuns, novices, postulants, servants, party guests, contestants and audience members in the Festival Concert.
Adults please come prepared with two contrasting 16 to 32-bar excerpts in a Rogers and Hammerstein musical theater style that shows off your range and/or ability, that is NOT from the show. We will definitely hear one, but may ask for the second piece only we need to hear more. Kids please bring something you are comfortable singing, but again nothing from the show please. We ask that everyone bring sheet music for your audition pieces, as we will not accept a capella auditions.
Monologues are not required. Please note that you may be asked to do a cold reading from the script at callbacks.
There will also be a dance/movement portion of the auditions, taught in groups. Please wear comfortable shoes (no flip flops) and clothing that you can move in.
Rehearsal Schedule: First rehearsal is Wednesday June 25th
Sundays 6:30-9pm (only after August 1)
Mondays 6:30-9pm
Wednesdays 6:30-9pm
Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal. Please bring your calendar to the auditions so you can note any conflicts at that time.
