The Arc of Opportunity Appoints Ryan Ribeiro-Rodriguez as New President and Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of The Arc of Opportunity is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Ribeiro-Rodriguez as its next president and Chief Executive Officer beginning March 16, 2026, following a comprehensive and highly competitive national search.
The search attracted more than 60 applicants and included a rigorous, multi-stage review process. Sixteen candidates advanced for further consideration, nine were shortlisted, and six finalists participated in three rounds of progressive interviews.
“Following a comprehensive and highly competitive national search, we are pleased to announce the appointment of our next Chief Executive Officer, building on the extraordinary legacy of leadership, service, and impact established by our outgoing CEO, Mary Heafy, the Search Committee unanimously determined that Ryan Ribeiro-Rodriguez is well positioned to lead The Arc of Opportunity into its next chapter of growth and continued service, while responding to emerging needs and priorities. We are excited to welcome him to The Arc of Opportunity,” said the Stephanie Williams Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Search Committee.
Ryan Ribeiro-Rodriguez brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in healthcare and human services, including senior roles in special education, disability services, and community health. Most recently, he served as Chief Operations Officer at North Shore Community Health, where he led multi-site operations, compliance, and strategic growth initiatives. He is known for his people-centered, collaborative leadership style and brings strong expertise in organizational operations, governance, strategic planning, and financial stewardship, with a consistent focus on advancing mission, equity, and high-quality services.

It has been my honor to serve The Arc of Opportunity for more than 16 years.  I am confident the successor Ryan Ribeiro-Rodriquez will build upon the work I have led and take the organization to greater heights meeting the current and future needs of The Arc.”  Mary’s last as President and CEO of The Arc is April 10, 2026.
