The Nashua River Watershed Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Cliff Simmonds as its new Executive Director, effective Monday, March 3rd.
Simmonds is a seasoned non-profit leader, bringing three decades of experience to this role. Cliff served as the Executive Director of Beaver Brook Association, Agassiz Village, a youth leadership outdoor program, and most recently New Hampshire Children’s Trust. In addition, his environmental experience includes community engagement regarding eco-restoration and EPA Superfund sites.
“Cliff has an impressive record of accomplishment at non-profits that he served, and he brings a strategic approach to leadership, strong communications skills, and tremendous enthusiasm.”, said Ralph Baker, NRWA Board President. “We look forward to working together to advance the Association's vital mission and goals.”
The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is a regional environmental leader providing water and land protection, ecological restoration, climate resilience, and environmental education throughout 32 communities in north central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
"I am both honored and excited to be joining such an incredible organization with a team of highly accomplished individuals, all dedicated to protecting and preserving our invaluable natural resources.” said Simmonds. “My passion for the environment began in grade school and has only deepened over my 30 years as a nonprofit leader. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the Nashua River Watershed Association and to build upon the vital work it has done for our community."
The Association will host an Open House at the River Resource Center later this spring so that community members have an opportunity to meet Cliff.
