Ayer, MA – The Town of Ayer is pleased to announce the appointment of Katie Neville as the new Community Development Program Manager. Neville began her duties on Monday, April 6.
“I’m excited for this opportunity to continue meaningful public service while working strategically and creatively to meet Ayer’s goals around housing, equity, and community wellbeing,” reflected Neville.
In this role, she will lead the Town’s affordable housing initiatives, oversee the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program -- including current housing rehabilitation projects and potential funding for the upcoming Senior Center project -- and administer the Ayer Rental Assistance Program (ARAP). She will provide program and administrative support to the Economic Development Director, serve the Affordable Housing Trust and Affordable Housing Committee, and coordinate across municipal departments and community partners to support Ayer residents, especially low- and moderate-income households.
“We are thrilled to welcome Katie to the team,” Economic Development Director Ray Friedlander said. “She has the skills, dedication, and leadership that have already made numerous positive impacts on people’s lives. We look forward to learning from her and championing her efforts.”
Neville brings more than a decade of experience in nonprofit and community-based work, most recently serving as Executive Director of Acton-Boxborough Community Compass. In that role she worked closely with municipal leaders, nonprofits, and community stakeholders to design and deliver programs and advance access to services. She looks forward to applying those skills in a municipal setting to advance Ayer’s housing, equity, and community well‑being goals.
"The Ayer Affordable Housing Committee and Trust members are looking forward to working with Katie as the new Community Development Program Manager. With her experience in community-based programs, we envision even more cooperation among town departments to increase the number of affordable units within Ayer," stated Janet Providakes, Chair of the Ayer Affordable Housing Committee.
