Groton, MA, June 16, 2025 — The Groton Public Library is thrilled to announce the start of the 2025 Summer Reading Program: LEVEL UP at Your Library!
Learning Loss. Research shows that kids who don’t read over the summer lose ground academically and start behind their peers in the fall. Young people who read regularly over the summer maintain and even advance their reading skills. But all ages benefit from the cognitive, emotional, and social growth (not to mention pleasure) that reading brings!
Sign up. Sign-up begins for all ages on June 17, in-person or online at grotonpubliclibrary.beanstack.org. Log your reading, complete bonus challenges, and earn prizes and even charitable donations!
Open to All. Summer Reading is open to all, with many programs and events planned, beginning with our Kick-Off Event with LED Mini-Golf, Video Gaming Room, Face painting, and more on Sunday, June 22, 1-4 pm – sign up for a tee time on our calendar at gpl.org/calendar, where you can see our fantastic line-up of fun activities all summer long.
Featured events include:
· LED Mini-Golf and Video Gaming Kick-off Event on June 22
· Flying High Dogs on July 17
· Family Picnic on August 22
· Live music concerts at Town Field each month
· Crafting workshops, science explorations, and STEM activities
· Mind Masters and Escape Room Challenges
· Teen and Family Game Nights
· Impromptu Camping Magic with Ed the Wizard
· And much more!
