What You’ll Do
- Directly supervises day-to-day operations of the Catania Fleet. Assesses risk and safety issues to ensure safety of the fleet team and equipment.
- Directly supervises CDL and Yard drivers to ensure they execute and adhere to strict schedules and pickup/delivery commitments.
- Through utilization of company provided tools, monitors performance of direct reports to ensure a high level of customer service takes place.
- Assists with recording data related to established KPI, and research root causes as needed.
- Conducts regular
- Assists management and HR with effective recruitment of quality drivers for the fleet and yard roles.
- Effectively writes and conducts performance appraisals for direct reports and works with management and HR to develop appropriate training plans and performance improvement for direct reports.
- Collaborates with other departments on cross-department initiatives that drive company success
- Registering and licensing of all vehicles.
- Maintain detailed records of vehicle service and inspections.
- Maintain necessary Department of Transport certification(s) and provide the fleet group with all necessary training in order to stay compliant with all laws and regulations.
- Scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to minimize down time, maintain schedules and ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
- Provides leadership and effective communication to management, employees and other departments within the organization.
- Assists in overseeing the upkeep of the garage, yard and all fleet equipment found within each area. Responsible for facilitating schedules with outside contractors who perform snow removal, fuel replenishment, equipment cleaning and other equipment related maintenance tasks.
