Summary
The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning automation and control systems for pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. This role requires hands-on experience with PLC/HMI systems, system integration, and onsite troubleshooting.
Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems using PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and related technologies.
  • Implement and debug automation solutions for process equipment and integrated systems.
  • Develop and maintain software applications (C#, SQL, HMI/SCADA interfaces).
  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC).
  • Support system integration, FAT, SAT, and onsite commissioning activities.
  • Diagnose and resolve system issues (hardware, software, network, instrumentation).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process engineers, mechanical, and customers).
  • Contribute to R&D and continuous improvement of automation platforms.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanics, or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with both technical teams and customers.
  • Willingness to travel for onsite support (as required).
Required Experience and Knowledge
  • 2–5 years of experience in industrial automation or process control systems.
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and industrial networking.
  • Programming experience in C#, JavaScript, SQL, or similar languages.
Preferred Skill and Experience
  • Experience with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens preferred).
