Economic Development Outreach Assistant

The Town of Acton is seeking a highly organized and creative Economic Development Outreach Assistant to provide administrative, communications, and outreach support to the Economic Development Department by advancing the Town’s economic development initiatives. This part time position requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences to promote community engagement and relationship-building efforts. 
General Duties and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Economic Development Director, the Economic Development Outreach Assistant will: Prepare written communications such as flyers and newsletters to engage the community. Support the design, distribution, and analysis processes of various data collection tools. Assist with the planning and execution of events, especially those tailored to local business needs. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to outreach activities and community engagement efforts, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Entrance Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) to three (3) years of administrative, communications, or customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in municipal government, economic development, marketing, communications, or community outreach. Experience assisting with events, surveys, or data collection.
Pay Rate: H-4; starting pay $26 per hour
