Line Cook

Kimball Farm is looking for multiple Line/Prep Cooks to prepare food in a quick service environment. Line Cooks prepare food and make sure each dish is delivered to customers in a timely manner, is responsible for that work stations flow and getting meals out on time. They oversee the cooking process from start to finish and determine how much time each step requires. A successful Line Cook pays close attention to detail and utilizes active listening skills to follow the processes their manager provides. They always keep their station clean, tidy, and well stocked to ensure food safety and high quality dishes.
No Experience Necessary!
Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report, and follow managers instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Follow the prep list created by managers to plan duties
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelf so they are organized and easily accessible
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
  • Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees, etc. and assist Line Cooks when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by cleaning dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
 
Requirements:
  • Weekend and night availability
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the United States
