Band Concert 7-7-2022

The Townsend Community Couples Club will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band’s Thursday, July 7th, concert on the Townsend Common.  Couples Club members will cook hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and sausages with grilled onions and peppers to sell to those attending the concert.  Fried dough, chips, hot coffee, and cold soda and bottled water will be available for purchase.  A wide selection of homemade baked goods will be offered for sale.

The Townsend Community Couples Club is a non-profit organization.  The money they raise each year is used to fund one or more projects or local organizations.  Some of this year's lawn party proceeds will be used to support the Squannacook Rail Trail.

The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing Curnow's arrangement of the “Midway March” and “Instant Concert” by Walters.   “Hooked on a Feeling” arranged by Murtha, “America Victorious” by Bagley, and “The Beatles: Love” arranged by Bocook will be performed.  ”West Side Story Selection” arranged by Duthoit and King's “The Avenger March” will be played during the first portion of the concert.

“The Maine Festival March” by Hall and “Bond...James Bond” arranged by Bulla will be played following intermission.  “Camelot” arranged by Yoder, “Suite “Espagnole” by Fulton, and Alford's “Colonel Bogey” will be performed before the Townsend Military Band concludes its concert at 9:30 by playing the “Star Spangled Banner.”

     The New Beginnings United Methodist Church will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band’s Thursday, July 14th, concert on the Townsend Common.  Church members will be selling hot dogs and baked beans to hungry concertgoers.  Chips, soda, and water will also be available for purchase.  Their baked goods table will feature cookies and brownies.

     The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing Lithgow’s “Invercargill March” and Longfield’s arrangement of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”.  Hazo’s arrangement of “Mountain Thyme”, “I’m Still Standing” arranged by Brown, and Gilmore’s “The Famous 22nd Regiment March” will be performed.  Brown’s arrangement of “Highlights from Jersey Boys”, “Ballet Parisienne” arranged by Isaac, and Fulton’s “Buzzards Bay March” will be included in the first portion of the program.

     Following intermission the “Great Waldo Pepper March” arranged by Moss and Grainger’s “Shepherd’s Hey from County Derry” will be played.  Erickson’s “Air For Band”, the “Poet and Peasant Overture” arranged by Meyrelles, and Winter’s arrangement of “Amparito Roco” will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 by playing the “Star Spangled Banner”.
