Ragtime is a Tony Award winning musical that paints a powerful portrait of the melting pot of America at the turn of the 20th century, weaving the delights of vaudeville, baseball, and nickelodeon with the disturbances of labor rallies and racial revolt. This unforgettable musical traces the threads of three American characters - represented respectively by Coalhouse Walker, a Harlem musician; Mother, the matriarch of a WASP family in New Rochelle; and Tateh, a Latvian Jewish immigrant. As these three characters embark on their own personal voyages of self-discovery, their lives become dramatically and irreversibly intertwined in one of the greatest musicals of our time.
