FORT DEVENS MUSEUM The DREZ AT 20 MONTHLY PROGRAM APRIL 16
Before & After, New England Studios, Devens.
Saturday April 16th | 1:00 PM | Fort Devens Museum
Fort Devens closed as an active Army base 20 years ago in 1996, and soon after, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts began a lengthy process of redevelopment. Please join us for an illustrated program The DREZ at 20: Devens Redevelopment, a Reflection presented by Peter Lowitt, Director of Land Use at Devens.
The Devens Enterprise Commission which acts as the regulatory and permitting authority for the Devens Regional Enterprise Zone (DREZ) has just completed its most recent five year review of development. With 5.7 million square feet of development, a 1% vacancy rate and over 5,500 current jobs, Devens redevelopment has been an unqualified success. Mr. Lowitt will reflect on his seventeen years working for the Commission and share some of the aspects of Devens that has helped position it as a poster child for the successful redevelopment of a closed military base.
Free and open to the public. The museum will be open from 10-3.
