Spring Emergence Exploration: Science Saturday for 7 to 11 Year Olds
Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Williams Barn, 160 Chicopee Row, Groton, MA
Warmer weather is finally here and we will be able to explore the forest and look for signs that winter is melting away. Children ages 7 to 11 are invited to join NRWA naturalists for our “Spring Emergence Exploration” on Saturday, April 12 at Williams Barn, a town-owned conservation property in Groton. We will see what aquatic creatures may be active near two ponds, explore the forest for freshly emerged salamanders and insects, and look for newly sprouted plants, such as the famous and smelly skunk cabbage- favorite food for waking bears! This Science Saturday program is open to children from all communities. Cost: $20 for NRWA members; $25 for non-members. For siblings who wish to attend, pay full price for the first child, ½ price for the second. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, please contact Mary Marro, NRWA Environmental Education Director, at (978) 448-0299, or email MaryM@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.
