Speak Up: Advocacy Workshop

Proposed changes put at risk programs that aid the safety net for millions of Americans. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), is one of those programs. As such, we invite you to learn effective advocacy and community organizing tools so we can work together to protect the safety net. During this two hour workshop you will have an opportunity to hear from local state representatives and community advocates. We will address:
- Advocacy and its importance
- How to develop your message
- How to contact your local and state representative
- How to write letters to the editor
- How to advocate for change
