Savoy Brown's latest CD, "Goin' to the Delta" hit #5 on the Billboard Blues Chart, #2 on the Roots Report and #1 on Amazon Blues sales.
One of the earliest of British blues bands, SAVOY BROWN (with founder guitarist Kim Simmonds at the helm) helped launch the UK blues/rock movement that paved the way for such acts as Led Zeppelin, becoming part of the framework that launched the rock and roll music of the 1970’s. Their influence now stretches into modern rock as we know it today. In 1967 they opened forCREAM's first London gig. In 1969 Kim jammed onstage in London with Jimi Hendrix and Eric Burdon.
Savoy Brown have released 37 albums. Ex-members of Savoy Brown have also been members of other rock & blues acts like Fleetwood Mac, Robert Cray Band, Black Sabbath, Humble Pie, U.F.O., Chicken Shack, Ten Years After & Foghat. Kim was recently inducted into Hollywood's Rock Walk of Fame.
With more than 3 decades behind them, they are one of the longest, continuously running Blues/Rock bands in the world today.
"Make no mistake about it: Simmonds isn't just up on his game, he gets better and better with age."---Michael Lisi - Gazette Reporter
