Golfers are invited to register for the Rotary Club Golf Tournament at Red Tail Golf Club on Devens, September 15th. The tournament, with all proceeds benefiting charity, is co-sponsored by the Rotary Clubs serving Ayer, Harvard, Shirley, Devens, Groton and Pepperell.
The nine-hole tournament is $85 per person and includes green fees, golf cart, practice range, prizes and barbeque dinner. Local businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor the event at a gold, silver or bronze level for a contribution between $100 and $500. For more information or to register, email AyerRotary@AyerRotary.com or call 978-448-6421.
“We're pleased to team up with the Groton-Pepperell Rotary Club to host this golf tournament and raise much needed financial contributions that our clubs provide to local and international charities. We believe both our clubs can do more good for the entire region by joining together for this tournament,” said Melissa Fetterhoff, President of the Ayer Rotary Club.
Examples of charities that benefit from Rotary donations include Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, high school scholarships, senior citizen meals, school book bag project, and Rotary Youth Leadership Alliance grants. Internationally, the Ayer and Groton clubs contribute to a Honduran medical clinic; PolioPlus, Rotary International's campaign to eradicate polio; clean water projects in Africa and Asia; and various other charities.
The Ayer Rotary Club, serving Ayer, Harvard, Shirley and Devens, meets every Thursday at 6 p.m., at the Bull Run Restaurant, Route 2A, in Shirley, and invites area professionals who are interested in learning more about Rotary.
