The Townsend Historical Society will be offering tours of the Reed Homestead on Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2—5 PM. The house, built in 1809, is rich in history and legend, having been the home of the Reed Family for four generations.
Those who saw the house featured on SyFy Channel’s Ghost Hunters will get a chance to see in person the “hot spots” shown on the episode and to ask questions about the TAPS visit and filming last April.
There will be a fire in the fireplace and hot cider and cookies throughout the afternoon. The public is invited to come and enjoy a tour especially scheduled for the eve of Halloween; admission is $7 for nonmembers, but free for members of the Historical Society. New members are welcome! For further information, call the Society at 978-597-2106 or email townsendhistoricalsociety@yahoo.com.
