* Predator or Prey? Tracking Animal Activity in Forest, Field and Wetland

NRWA invites individuals and families with children ages 10 and up to join us for "Predator or Prey?" on Saturday, February 8 at one of Groton's most environmentally diverse conservation properties.  This tracking workshop is designed to look closely at the trail patterns, prints, and behaviors of our local predators and prey animals as they negotiate the forests, fields, and wetlands during harsh winter months.  Winter survival challenges all wildlife and their stories can be told through the tracks and signs left behind. The activity will include hiking at a moderate pace, with some off trail exploration.  Please dress with multiple layers, winter boots, water resistant outer gear (snow pants or gators); pack a water bottle and energy snack.  Snow shoes are helpful, but not necessary. The fee is: $8/person or $24/family for NRWA members; $10/person or $30/family for non-members. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.  Detailed directions to the meeting location will be provided upon registration.  To pre-register, please contact Stacey Chilcoat, NRWA River Classroom Director, at (978) 448-0299, or StaceyC@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.
