More about the Artist:
About ten years ago, I was introduced to jewelry-making by a dear friend, who gifted me with a simple, but elegant wrap-around bracelet. She offered to teach me how to make one – and I was hooked!
I have since designed jewelry using several techniques, including stringing, chain maille, knotting, wire wrapping, weaving and more.
Weaving is decidedly my favorite! Using needle and “thread”, I literally sew the beads together, sometimes making a simple design and then embellishing it with other beads, crystals, or pearls – many times using two needles in a right-angle weave pattern. Weaving on a loom is another technique I enjoy. The necklaces displayed here are Japanese Kumihimo braiding with a blown-glass pendant.
Perhaps this love of weaving is in my genes as both my mother and grandmother were seamstresses and always seemed to have a needle and thimble going!
My jewelry is custom-designed and made, so if you see something you like, but would prefer another color or size or material, contact me. I often re-design and make jewelry from pieces in my customers’ jewelry boxes that is heirloom or unworn because it just isn’t right for some reason. Together, we’ll make it right!
I’m happiest when I can design and make something unique and special, just for you!
