Orientation and Training for Water Monitoring Volunteers
Thursday, April 4, 2013, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., NRWA Resource Center, 592 Main Street (Rt. 119) in Groton
The Nashua River Watershed Association launches its 21st season of water monitoring this year! We’ll begin Saturday, April 20th and continue each third Saturday of the month through October at approximately 43 sites on rivers and streams throughout the watershed. Water samples taken in the field are delivered to labs in Pepperell or Devens for testing by NRWA staff and lab volunteers. This Orientation and Training session is for those interested in learning more about water monitoring. We’ll be training for both sample collection in the field and sample testing at the lab. Volunteers may be asked to monitor a new site, join an existing team, assist in testing at the lab, or be a back-up volunteer. Monitoring for the 2013 season is supported in part by grants from BAE Systems located in Nashua, NH and the Norcross Wildlife Foundation, Inc. Please sign-up by contacting Kathryn Nelson, NRWA Water Monitoring Coordinator, at KathrynN@NashuaRiverWatershed.org. FREE
