Listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Open as a single room schoolhouse 1869-1906
Owned & maintained by SPSA volunteers since 1908
Now restored & ready for its next 150 years

The Restored Schoolhouse
With the recent completion of restoration work Sandy Pond Schoolhouse is ready for its next 150 years. Complementing the classroom restoration completed earlier, the ell has also been restored and is now fully accessible. New features include painstakingly hand restored windows, an accessible washroom with hot and cold running water, an accessible entrance, and more.

Come see the newly restored schoolhouse and learn about its role in Ayer history. It’s free and a great family event.
