Bears in Massachusetts
Thursday, November 21, 2013, 7:00-9:00 p.m., NRWA River Resource Center, 592 Main St. (Rt. 119) in Groton
Have black bears been seen in or near your community?  There are many sightings these days, greeted with a mix of excitement and concern. The best way to live side-by-side with bears is to be well informed.  Join us to have all of your black bear questions answered by Trina Moruzzi, a biologist with MA Fish and Wildlife.  Trina will talk about the natural history of the black bear, its habits and habitat, what it likes to eat, when and where bears hibernate, what to do if you meet a bear, and how we can live as responsible neighbors with our ursine neighbors. This program is free and open to the public; appropriate for all ages, so bring your cubs. Registration is required. We expect this will be a popular program, so register early as space is limited and plan to arrive by 6:45.  Seats for pre-registrants will be held until 5 minutes before the presentation begins, then will be given to walk-ins. To register, please contact Pam Gilfillan, NRWA Development and Outreach Associate, at (978) 448-0299, or email PamG@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.  FREE
