DEVENS -- The Nashua River Watershed Association will hold its 2011 Annual Meeting on Friday, Nov. 11, at the Red Tail Golf Club. All are invited to join us as we celebrate the accomplishments of the past year, elect officers and directors, and present our annual conservation and education awards. Our keynote speaker will be Daniel M. Ashe, Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The NRWA 2011 Land and Water Conservation Award will be given to Robert O'Connor for his vision, leadership, and outstanding track record of protecting land and water resources in the Nashua River watershed and across the commonwealth.
The NRWA 2011 Environmental Education Award recipient is Gina Wironen for her commitment, dedication, and persistence in supporting the Monoosnoc Brook Greenway Project and environmental education in Leominster.
The Association's Watershed and River Club corporate members will also be recognized.
The evening will include a social hour, dinner, and a chance to mingle with NRWA staff and other members and supporters.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a reception and corporate member recognition at 6:45 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7, followed by the business meeting, NRWA annual awards, and the keynote speaker at 7:30. Tickets to attend the annual meeting are $65. Reservations are required; reservation deadline is Nov. 1. The public is welcome.
