On Saturday, September 29, 10:00a-2:00p, several area police stations will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day initiative. Unwanted prescription drugs can be dropped off for proper disposal without any questions asked or form of ID provided. This program protects children from getting access to potentially harmful medications. Additionally, it helps to preserve the water quality of local rivers which can be adversely affected by drugs that are flushed down the toilet and ultimately discharged into the river via the waste water treatment facility.
