You’re invited to join us!
The Nashua River Watershed Association will be leading a guided trail walk at the North Post Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge in Shirley on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. The Refuge, owned and managed by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, features a wide array of habitats and is home to diverse species, including rare and endangered species such as the Blandings turtle. It also serves as a stop for many migratory birds. Our guide will be Mary Marro, NRWA’s Environmental Education Director. The walk will not proceed if we have a heavy storm. Please dress appropriately for the weather, with boots for snow, rain, or mud. Also note, dogs are not allowed at the Refuge. The trailhead and parking for this walk are located on Walker Road; view a Google map for directions.
This trail walk is free and open to the public, funded in part by a grant from the Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund. Pre-registration is encouraged for planning purposes, and for notification in case of inclement weather. To register, please contact Al Futterman, NRWA Land Programs Director, at (978) 448-0299, or email AlF@NashuaRiverWatershed.org.
