Most exporters are well aware of the need to be compliant with U.S. export regulations.A cursory effort to comply with export regulations is not enough, however.Between the dynamic nature of the regulations, stepped-up enforcement efforts, and confusion created by the pending export control reform initiative, the export regulatory compliance environment is now more complex than ever.Companies that don't take a proactive and preemptive approach to export compliance will fall behind the curve on regulatory changes, leaving themselves open to noncompliance and possible enforcement action.
This seminar will provide the latest information on export regulatory trends, with a focus on current compliance issues. The seminar will feature export compliance practitioners and other experts discussing the following issues:the latest changes under the pending export control reform initiative; special concerns involving product and technology export controls, including the new STA license exception, recent changes in encryption regulations and the anticipated migration of items from State Department to Commerce Department control; deemed export compliance, data security, and use of cloud-based technology; and trends in worldwide export controls, along with special concerns for U.S. firms operating overseas.
Speakers for this all-day conference will include export compliance practitioners from some of the state's leading exporting firms. The event will also feature video keynote guests Kevin Wolf and Todd Willis of the U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry & Security. Mr. Wolf and Mr. Willis will provide the latest updates on the federal export control reform initiative, including the recently-expanded oversight of the Bureau of Industry and Security to include munitions items previously controlled under the State Department.
The program will conclude with a panel sharing best practices across a number of areas, including compliance program management, trade compliance with mergers & acquisitions, ensuring trade compliance with overseas channel partners and more. The seminar will be followed by a networking reception.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to hear the latest on export compliance issues and trends from some of the area's leading exporters and compliance experts! This program is expected to sell out and space is limited, so early registration is strongly advised.
