Save Saturday, Sept. 9 for the 112th annual Country Fair at Fay Park, 20
Foster St. in Littleton, 10 am to 4 pm, where you can spend a day not a
fortune.
Bring your dog this year for the premiere of the Canine Contests. The
free friendly contests start at 11:30 am with the pooch parade – costumes
encouraged, followed by tricks and talents, kissing and dog-owner
look-a-like, at the Gazebo.
Find fabulous bargains at a huge sale of recycled household goods, jewelry,
toys and books. Make apple cider from a hand-crank press. Sample homemade
jams, jellies and pickles; choose from handmade crafts. There are pony
rides, craft vendors, homemade lunch and pies, beverages, booths with
information from community organizations, and a free genealogical lookup
service.
Musicians will perform for free all day at the Gazebo, and kids can buy
tickets for the live puppet and magic shows, and play old-fashioned games.
Make your last stop the farmer’s market, where Littleton farmers will sell
their delicious fresh produce, and offer a free petting zoo.
This fair has been a Littleton tradition since the late 1800s when women
from First Church Unitarian began making fruit preserves and pickles and
selling them across the street at Fay Park. The event has grown to become a
cultural and community event where there's something for everyone, and
bargains galore.
There’s free parking, family friendly, handicap accessible and handicap
parking. For more information, go to http://www.fculittle.org/country-fair/
