* Legislator to Host Education Funding Forum (Groton)

State Sen. Ed Kennedy, a Lowell Democrat, will be hosting a presentation by Sen. Jason Lewis, on the future of education funding in Massachusetts. Lewis is a Winchester Democrat and the Senate Chairman of the Llegislature’s committee. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Groton Town Hall

Every school district in the region and across the Commonwealth struggles with its own set of unique financial challenges, affecting the quality of educationoffered to students. This discussion will provide community stakeholders with the unique opportunity to learn about the mechanisms of education funding at the state level, the effort that has been undertaken by the legislature to review the current education funding formula, and the proposals to overhaul the formula being considered this session.
