LancasterCelebrates Opening of Community Center
The Lancaster Tercentenary Building has been transformed into a Community Center, new home for the Senior Center, Council on Aging, Commission on Disability, Veterans’ Organization, Recreation Committee and the local access public television station. In addition to these permanent tenants, community members may reserve space for recreation (a gymnasium is located on the upper level) and other activities or programs such as meetings, special community, private or club events, lectures etc.
To celebrate the long time project and the efforts of many, many volunteers, a grand opening celebration will be held Sunday, June 26 from 1-4 PM at the Community Center, 695 Main Street behind Town Hall.
A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1:00 kicks off the event. Representatives from community groups already interested in using the building will be present, sharing information about their programs and recruiting volunteers. Free refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon as visitors stroll through the new Community Center.
