Groton will celebrate summer and Independence Day a little differently than other communities. Their fireworks display is staged a few days after the Fourth of July. This year they will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016. The fireworks show is scheduled to start at about 9:15 pm.

The event will be held at the Groton Town Field. The field is located behind the library on Main Street. There will be food available before the show and the crowds usually start to gather around 5:00 pm.
