WESTFORD -- Chabad of Nashoba Valley will be hosting a special evening with Dr. Jonathan Sarna entitled "When General Grant Expelled the Jews" at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Westford Regency Hotel, 219 Littleton Road.

Sarna is the author, editor or co-editor of more than 30 books and is the Joseph Engel visiting Professor of American Jewish Studies at Harvard University.

He is the president of the Association for Jewish Studies, the largest Jewish studies organization in the world, as well as the Joseph H. & Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish history at Brandeis; the chair of its Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program; and the chief historian of the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia.

"Dr. Jonathan Sarna is nationally acclaimed as an expert on American Jewish history. We are privileged to host him here in the Nashoba Valley area and we look forward to his leading us through the known and unknown facts regarding this great country where Jews have been treated better than almost anywhere in the past 2,000 years," said Rabbi Zalman Gurkow, director of Chabad of Nashoba Valley.

All are welcome. Although there is no formal fee, Chabad is suggesting a donation of $18 to help support their cause. To register in advance, visit www.chabadnashoba.org. For information, call Chabad of Nashboa Valley at 978-399-0045.
