* Healthy Eating and Preventing Diabetes:Free Lecture for NRWA Outdoor Wellness
Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. Nashoba Valley Medical Center, 200 Groton Road in Ayer, MA
Many of us have made New Year’s resolutions to take better care of our health, and healthier eating should be a part of our plan. The NRWA and the Nashoba Valley Medical Center invite the public to join us for a free “Healthy Eating and Preventing Diabetes” presentation at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, MA. Our presenter will be Susan Morris, registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator at the Endocrine and Diabetes Center at Nashoba Valley Medical Center. Susan will be speaking about healthy measures we can take to decrease the risk of diabetes, a disease that is increasing rapidly in America, even in young people. Although related to diabetes prevention, her healthy eating and lifestyle tips are great for most everyone. Susan has been with the Endocrine and Diabetes Center for about 6 1/2 years. She provides nutrition education for various medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, failure to thrive, Celiac’s disease, and more. This is a free opportunity to get good dietary information from an expert.
NRWA and Nashoba Valley Medical Center are co-sponsoring a series of Healthy Lifestyles and Wellness Lectures and Films in support of NRWA’s Outdoor Wellness Walking Program. This lecture is free and open to the public, funded in part by a grant from the Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund. Pre-registration is required; please contact Rosanna at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center by calling (978) 784-9204, or email Rosanna. FREE
