Hawaiian Luau Night Out (Third Space Kitchen Groton)

“Say aloha to a night out with a taste of the islands. In this hands-on class, you’ll prepare tender, smoky Instant Pot Kalua Pig—a modern take on Hawaii’s traditional imu-cooked pork. You’ll plate it the authentic way with steamed rice, cabbage braised in savory drippings, and creamy macaroni salad on the side. To finish, you’ll make tropical mango sticky rice, a Thai-inspired dessert beloved across Hawaii. Flavorful, festive, and fun—this is paradise on a plate, shared together.”

BYOB beer and wine. Waters, sodas and juice provided. Enjoy a delicious, hands-on night. Cook, eat, socialize!

Menu:
Kalua Pig (Instant pot): Instant Pot Kalua Pig is a quick and easy take on the traditional Hawaiian dish, which is usually cooked in an underground oven called an imu. This pressure cooker version delivers a deliciously smoky, salty, and tender shredded pork.
Rice, Cabbage and Macaroni Salad: For the most traditional Hawaiian experience, serve your kalua pig with a bed of steamed white rice and cabbage braised in the pork’s savory drippings. This is the classic “plate” style, often served alongside macaroni salad.
Mango sticky rice: With Thai influences, this dessert is popular all over the islands and varies the type of mango depending on what’s in season.
