Saturday March 19th | 1:00 PM | Fort Devens Museum
Join us as guest speaker, Diane Kuebler, presents a look at the work of the U.S. Navy's Seabees in constructing an airbase and roads on Iwo Jima as part of what has been called the Marine's Bloodiest battle in the Corps' history.
Her lecture will include rare period photos and Iwo Jima memorabilia.
In addition to carrying out extensive research and interviewing many veterans of the battle, Kuebler has traveled to the island and other Pacific battlefields.
Inspiration for her studies and travels came from her father who was a member of the 31st NCB, building Navy bases on Iwo Jima and other islands.
