Honor our Veterans at Fort Devens Museum on November 7th
On Saturday November 7th, the Fort Devens Museum will hold its annual Open House celebrating Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Worcester resident, John McAuliffe, will talk about his experiences in Europe during WWII as part of an 81mm mortar squad with the 347th Infantry Regiment. Also, members of a 26th “Yankee Division” living history group will be in attendance in uniform to talk to visitors.
In addition to these programs, exhibits are on view that chronicle the history of Camp and Fort Devens and the roles its men and women played overseas and on the home front. The Open House will take place from 10 AM to 4 PM and is free and open to the public, though donations are appreciated. Refreshments will be served and a variety of prizes will be raffled off at the end of the day.
The Fort Devens Museum is located on the 3rd floor at 94 Jackson Road, Devens, MA. The building is wheelchair accessible. For more information about this event please call 978-772-1286 or email info@fortdevensmuseum.org.
