“We chose to name the film Greenway Heroes because we believe it's important to educate people about the individual people, not just the agencies, who make land conservation possible,” said Edwards. The film serves as a sequel to Edwards’ earlier film which she completed five years ago, called Marion Stoddart: The Work of 1000. “I felt compelled to make Greenway Heroesbecause Marion’s vision has always been to complete a buffer of greenway all along the Nashua River and its tributaries, to protect water quality and quantity, to provide a wildlife corridor, to protect wetlands, and to provide more access to the river. Hopefully, this film will help complete her vision, by inspiring more landowners to place their land in conservation.”
Following the film, Marion Stoddart will lead us in a discussion about what every property owner can do to protect the local watershed and why land philanthropy is so important to the welfare of the natural environments we all share.
