$5 parking fee per carRising above the surrounding forest to a height of 2006 feet, Mount Wachusett stands as a unique landmark within the central New England landscape. From the summit, a clear day reveals views of Mt. Monadnock in New Hampshire, the Berkshires to the west, and the Boston skyline to the east. Join educators from Just Understand My Potential (JUMP) for a family-friendly hike to the summit of our neighbor on the horizon. Along the way, we will pass through 3,000-acre natural resources including old growth forests, alpine meadows, streams, and even Balance Rock - two large boulders stacked one on top of the other by moving glaciers thousands of years ago.
Moderate difficulty level. Hiking boots, hats, insect repellent, drinking water and walking sticks are strongly recommended. Suggested for ages 5 and up.
