In the etched egg pysanky class students will create wax designs on the egg in the traditional manner; however, once eggs have their wax designs, the egg will be dipped in a chemical bath that will “eat away” the egg shell that is not covered in wax, leaving an etched finish. The results are amazing! This class is for both beginners and those with experience.
Instructor Karen Brouillette is a wife and mother of seven children who has enjoyed the art of pysanky for over 10 years. Her other passions include monarch butterflies, iconography, and home education. Instructor Susan Dow is a wife, mother of six children, and a home educator. She is an artist specializing in watercolor, but loves to create with any medium. Susan enjoys nature, reading and time in the garden. She has been decorating pysanky eggs for several years. Karen and Susan have taught pysanky workshops together throughout New England.
