Bridges® by EPOCH and Waterstone Senior Living are pleased to offer this complimentary CE session, which has been approved for Social Workers in MA, CT, NH & NY through NASW; Case Managers through PACE in CT, MA, NH & NY; and for Nurses in MA.
Dementia’s deteriorating effects on the brain cause neurotransmitter disturbances, neuron damage, and poor integrative function that often manifest in challenging behaviors. Understanding how a person’s cognitive deficits impact their functional ability helps care providers choose appropriate non-pharmacological approaches to calm, reassure and communicate with them.
Upon completion of this course, participants will better understand:
• How dementia can affect the brain, body, personality and behaviors
• Goals of non-pharmacological therapies
• Various types of non-pharmacological interventions
• How to manage challenging behaviors with non-pharmacological approaches
Please note that the CE session will promptly begin.
Attendees joining later than 11:10 a.m. will not be admitted into the session.
