Clinton Greenway Walk Near the Nashua River
Sunday, May 18, 2014, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., near the Nashua River in Clinton, MA
Join NRWA Land Programs Director Al Futterman and members of the Clinton Greenway Conservation Trust (CGCT) as we explore riverfront greenway in Clinton. This two mile walk is relatively flat but the terrain is uneven. Along with views of the river, the property has a rare natural community known as “Dry Riverside Bluff.” This rare community occurs next to rivers in steep, sandy areas. It provides habitat for species that enjoy dry conditions and open space, and it is globally endangered. The meeting location for the walk will be at the Savage Field/Vale Street playground parking area off Water Street in Clinton; view a Google map and directions. This walk is free and open to the public. This is the third walk in NRWA’s spring greenway walk series, coinciding with CGCT’s annual River Walk. Pre-registration is appreciated for planning purposes and for notice of a weather postponement. To pre-register, contact Al Futterman at (978) 448-0299, or email AlF@NashuaRiverWatershed.org. Thank you to our friends at CGCT for co-leading this walk! FREE
