We know Clara Endicott Sears as Fruitlands' founder, but Dr. Cecilia Macheski, Professor Emeritus of LaGuardia Community College and The City University of New York, will share with us the mercurial energy, diverse interests and unique vision of this influential woman in an illustrated slide lecture.
Macheski authored the essay Clara Endicott Sears in Fruitlands' centennial book: 100 Objects, 100 Stories, 100 Years at Fruitlands Museum. The book will be available for sale at the lecture and Cecilia is happy to sign books bought there or previously purchased. Sears' summer home, "The Pergolas," on Prospect Hill Rd. in Harvard, Mass. and Miss Sears with "Pumenangwet, He Who Shoots the Stars," in 1939.
