Carol O’Shaughnessy returns to The Bull Run Restaurant with her new show, ‘Off The Cuff … An evening of music and comedy, Anything Can Happen?!’ featuring The Tom LaMark Orchestra
Dubbed “Boston’s First Lady of Cabaret,” Carol O’Shaughnessy has earned the city’s “Cabaret Entertainer of the Year” for appearances at New York City’s Town Hall, Jordan Hall, The Regattabar and Scullers. Carol’s one-woman shows “Stuff In The Box … Provincetown The Early Years” and “Ring-a-Ding-Ding: The Music of the Rat Pack” were named “Top 10 Best Cabaret Shows for 2002 and 2003” respectively. She was also nominated by the Independent Reviewers of New England for “Best Female Cabaret Entertainer 2004”. Carol has appeared with Joan Rivers at the North Shore Music Theatre and David Brenner at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Theatre. In 2007 Carol was the opening act for “Herb Reed and the Platters” as well as legendary comedian, Pat Cooper! Carol recently appeared on Chronicle as part of their “My Boston” show as well as “Sunday with Liz Walker” on WBZ-TV. She has been a featured guest of WBZ-Radio host, Jordan Rich for several years. O’Shaughnessy has three CD’s, “The Way I See It” and “Live At Scullers” and “Ring-A-Ding-Ding: The Music of the Rat Pack” all of which have received rave reviews. Carol appeared in Provincetown with her fabulous retro show “Stuff In The Box …. Provincetown, The Early Years” in 2004. Carol is also an accomplished actress and has performed as Matron “Mama” Morton in the Worcester Foothills Theatre productions of Chicago, directed by Susan Streeter. O’Shaughnessy cruised with RSVP Travel on the Star Clipper to the Mediterranean as well as a riverboat cruise the summer of 2006 to Budapest, Vienna and Prague. This past July, Ms. O’ emceed the New Roseland Ballroom in Taunton, Massachusetts!
The Tom LaMark Orchestra is an experienced ensemble of very talented professional musicians and vocalists. Orchestra leader Tom LaMark has made music his career from the age of 13. He holds a degree from the world renowned Berklee College of Music. Tom has played with jazz stars: Dizzy Gillespie, Phil Woods, Johnny Hartman and Buddy Rich. He has accompanied some of the greats of show business including: Aretha Franklin, Myanna, Donna Summer, The Smothers Brothers, Robert Merrill and many more.
