AYER -- It began a decade ago and it's grown every year.
Police are again putting out the call for new, unwrapped toys to benefit the needy children in the region this holiday season during their 10th annual Ayer police holiday toy drive.
The drive starts today, Nov. 26, and extends through Thursday, Dec. 23.
Look for the collection boxes at the following locations:
* Ayer Middle High School, 141 Washington St., Ayer;
* Ayer Police Department, 54 Park St., Ayer;
* Ayer Post Office, 1 Columbia St., Ayer;
* Ayer Town Hall, 1 Main St., Ayer;
* North Middlesex Savings Bank, 7 Main St., Ayer;
* Sovereign Bank, Park St., Ayer;
* I-C Federal Credit Union, 72 Park St., Ayer;
* Nashoba Publishing, 78 Barnum Road, Devens, and;
* Page Hilltop School, 115 Washington St., Ayer
Tax-deductible monetary donations are also welcome. Checks should be made payable to: Ayer Police Toy Drive.
Monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed to the Ayer Police Department, 54 Park St., Ayer, MA 01432. Donors will receive tax receipts by Dec. 31.
