The Climate Action Collaborative presents the Art and Climate Transition (ACT) Festival on Saturday, May 11th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Groton center. The ACT Festival features activities to engage and entertain kids and adults. Activities explore the subject of climate change with fun, art, food, music, and much more.
Activities include:
· ART show and auction from area artists and a dynamic trash art sculpture
· MUSIC from area musicians, such as Blue Taxi and Back to the Garden, and choruses, such as the Pebble Bottom Gang, and a demo of musical instruments made from trash
· GUEST SPEAKER Evan Hadingham, Senior Science Editor for the public television show NOVA, will talk about climage change coverage in the media
· ACTIVITIES, such as trash art mandalas, eco-murals, ZenTangle earth and sidewalk art, puppet show, planting, cooking, composting, yoga, and more
· MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION on climate science and climate action from the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE)
· CAFE DISCUSSION about our ideas for moving forward together around the issue of climate change
· FOOD from local restaurants
Come join in a full day of fun, community, and art that will move us forward in our conversation around climate change.
