It's About Space, It's About Time An Exhibit of the Work of Nan Quintin Opening Reception Thursday, March 29, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Dear Melissa, Living in the Groton area, it's easy to become accustomed to the natural and architectural beauty that surrounds us -- to the point that our environment is reduced to scenery flying past our car windows. Open Studio Groton's new art show, "It's About Space, It's About Time," which features 45 paintings by local artist Nan Quintin, reminds us to slow down and enjoy the visual riches in our own backyards.
Please join us at an opening reception for Nan Quintin's exhibit on Thursday, March 29, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.Come, raise a glass to Nan, and enjoy her memorable acrylic and watercolor paintings.
Nan grew up in Groton and is today a resident of Pepperell, Mass. The family homestead, which is still active with horses and the usual farm activities -- including gardening and haymaking -- continues to inspire her. This scenery moved Nan to paint the rolling hills and fields, the pond, and the woods that are teeming with wildlife, as well as the farm animals, activities, and structures that each have their unique stories to tell. Nan also travels further afield, painting views that will be familiar to many, including the rail trail, the view from Gibbet Hill, and even Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine.
Nan has earned a special place in our hearts here at Open Studio. She has attended Creative Community Hours at the studio every Tuesday, without fail, since our launch in January. Two sections of the exhibit are devoted to the paintings that Nan created right here in the studio. We know you'll enjoy them as much as we do.
Nan's work will be on display at the studio through the end of May.
