Historic New England presents: 35th Annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival at the Codman Estate Saturday, September 9th, from 10:00am to 4:00pm
A metro-Boston tradition for thirty-five years, the Arts and Crafts Festival is a juried show featuring the fine work of more than one hundred artisans from throughout New England. Items for sale include: jewelry, pottery, painting, food wares, glass, photography, fiber art, woodworking, clothing, and much more.
Visitors can also enjoy live musical performances with the "Moz-Jazz" sound of Albino Mbie and Lloyd Thayer's folk and blues. There is also free admission to tours of the first floor of the c. 1740 house.
Once called "the handsomest place in America," this country estate was home to five generations of the Codman family. The sixteen acre grounds feature a hidden turn-of-the-century Italian garden with perennial beds, statuary, and a reflecting pool filled with water lilies.
Admission is $5. Admission is free to Historic New England members and children under 12. For information, call 617-994-5914. Proceeds help protect the buildings and landscapes that represent our region's heritage and support public programs at Historic New England's Codman Estate. www.historicnewengland.org
